Our ethos is to build the bikes we want to ride, and ride the bikes we build; it keeps us focussed on what really matters. The Luxe build on the Edit v4 is a great example - it has the best price of the bikes we build but it delivers all the performance that you would expect and cuts no corners to get there.
The Luxe is built around the exact same Edit v4 frame you’ll find on our other bikes; that’s a tried & tested alloy platform delivering 155mm of plush travel. Progressive design, aggressive intent and reliability built in. Now in it’s fourth generation, the Edit has had five years of ride testing and development and has matured into one of the very best 27.5” frames out there. In a world of carbon 29ers, the Edit remains a real rider’s bike.
Suspension duties are taken care of by Rockshox - Super Deluxe Coil Select+ out back for that unmistakable coil feel, and a 160mm Lyrik Select up front. The Luxe gets a 1x12 GX Eagle drivetrain with Descendant cranks and an MRP 1x chain guide to keep things in check. Stopping power is courtesy of SRAM Code R. The wheel set is WTB’s Proterra Tough with i30 rims wearing Verdict front and Judge rear tyres - if they work in Wharncliffe, they’ll work anywhere. And of course, finishing kit is from our good friends at Burgtec.
Choosing the right spring rate is key to getting the most out of a coil shock. Work out your total rider weight - including your normal riding kit - then use this chart to choose a spring. You can use the shock's preload adjuster to do the fine tuning later.
These spring rates are calculated based on the Edit v4's kinematics. Even if you're used to running coil shocks on other bikes, you may need to check the right spring for the Edit. These calculations are based on 33% sag and a 65% rear / 35% front weight bias. On the Edit's 205mm shock length, 33% sag measures at 185mm eye-to-eye.
It takes a few days for us to prepare your order before shipping. At busy times there can be a build queue of a few days which may affect lead times. Preorders can take up to 30 days to ship.
