If you're like us, mountain biking is important to you, a big part of your life. It's not just something you do, it's something you are. Something you're part of. We were all mountain bikers for a long time before we set up Airdrop and made it our work, and when we did that (and every day since) we made a commitment to stay true to our roots as riders.
Bikes Are Simple.
To us, riding bikes is about having a laugh. Long days in the woods or the mountains, sessioning tracks or slapping a few turns. It's about spending time with your mates or getting away from it all on a solo mission. It's a good thing. It's fun and it's simple.
Business is complicated.
It's about faster, newer, better. More clicks, more sales, more profit. Everything is a competition and a struggle. Gotta pay the bills, do what the boss says, get that promotion. Growth is everything and cash is king. That's the source of all the bad shit we set up Airdrop to get away from.
At Airdrop we don't think like that. We run it as a professional business and we take what we do seriously. But we don't take ourselves too seriously. As a Homegrown Bike Company we choose to put people before profit. We're not trying to take over the world or get rich; all we want is a good way of life and to spend our time building something we can be proud of.
Our Clayspades edit was made in 2016, but it still captures the Airdrop #sessionsnotseconds ethos perfectly:
Ed is the owner of Airdrop Bikes. A former web and graphic designer, he sacked off his job one day and decided to start up a bike brand.
