Everything you need to know if you're planning to buy (or receive) a Fade DJ for Christmas this year.

The Fade is one of the most popular dirt jump bikes out there; Red Bull voted it #1 in their 'ultimate dirt jump bikes' list two years in a row. But as we're a small business, there's a limit to how many we can build. They're especially popular in the run up to Christmas, so this year we've made a plan to make sure nobody misses out. This article has everything you need to know to make sure you get yours.

Airdrop Fade Core dirt jump bike

Fade DJ Stock Level & Availability

The Fade Core DJ bike is released in monthly drops. As we're a small business, availability is limited by our funds and ability to build bikes to order, and as a result the normal monthly drop is only ten bikes. That's why stock always sells out and it's also why Fades were so hard to get for Christmas last year. However, this years we've planned for this and will be releasing more:

Month Release Date Quantity
October Thursday 1st October 20 bikes
November Monday 2nd November 15 bikes
December Tuesday 1st December 10 bikes

Typically the bikes are released at midday on the release date.

The Fade Frame is a little different, because we don't need to buy build kits to go with it. Right now, we have reserved enough frames only to build the bikes detailed above. We have another batch of frames due to arrive in January. We expect to release them for sale on Tuesday 1st December.

Pricing & Payment Options

Pricing

The Fade Frame price is fixed at £499 and the Fade Core DJ bike price is fixed at £1799. We haven't changed those prices for a good while, and we don't plan to. Airdrop products are built to an extremely high standard but we don't believe in charging any more than we have to. These prices will not be changed, so everyone will get their Fade at the same fair price.

Payment Options

Full payment is taken at the point when you place your order when using credit card, debit card or PayPal. You can also pay using various Cycle To Work schemes and V12 Retail Finance, in which case payment is not required immediately but you must still place an order through the website.

 Payment Type Payment Options

Fade DJ Colour Options

Currently we produce the Fade frames in two different colours. Raw is a brushed alloy finish with a clear matte powdercoat applied on top. It looks like true 'raw' aluminium but it won't tarnish over time. Dark Roast is a dark brown matte powdercoat finish.

As stock is limited, so are combinations of size and colour. If an option is 'greyed out' on the product page, that means it's not currently in stock.

The October bikes will be mostly Dark Roast.
The November bikes will be available in both Dark Roast and Raw.
The December bikes will be available in both Dark Roast and Raw.

Fade DJ Customisation Options

Like all Airdrop Bikes, the Fade Core DJ bike is built to order. That's unlike most other brands, who have their bikes assembled in the far east. It does mean there's a short wait (see Build Queue, below) but it gives us a unique advantage: we can customise your bike when we build it.

Current customisation options include:

  • 2x head badge colours (black or silver)
  • 11x decal colours (black, grey, white, red yellow, silver, bronze, metallic grey, chrome black, chrome silver, brushed silver)
  • 5x handlebar rise (30, 38, 50, 65, 80mm)
  • 7x handledar width (740, 750, 760, 770, 780, 790, 800mm)
  • Brake Orientation (UK or Euro)

Plus you can save up to 30% on optional extras:

  • Burgtec Composite pedals
  • Ridewrap Tailored frame protection kit (fit at home)

Fade DJ Build Queue

All Airdrop bikes are built to order in our Sheffield workshop. That means there can be a short wait between placing your order and when it's ready to ship or collect. Typically it's about a week, but at busy times it can increase significantly. The estimated build date is shown on the product page (see below).

We strongly recommend getting your order in early if it's important to have it before Christmas.

Fade DJ Delivery & Collection Options

UK Shipping

Once an order is built, we ship to UK addresses via APC, using a next-day service. Fame shipping costs £20 and bike shipping costs £40. See our Shipping Policy for more information.

International Shipping

Once an order is built, we ship to EU addresses via DHL road-freight, and further afield via DHL air-freight. Costs vary depending on your location. See our Shipping Policy for more information.

Christmas Gifts

If you are buying a Fade as a Christmas gift, it may be that you don't want to take delivery of it immediately. We have a limited amount of space to store bikes, but if this applies to you, contact us after you've placed your order so we can agree a delivery or collection date.

  2. Select your preferred Size and Colour
  3. Choose your customisation options and any optional extras
  4. Click 'Add to Cart'
  5. Review your options at the shopping cart, then click 'Checkout'
