Rockshox recently released the Pike DJ to the new Electric Red colour. We like to make sure that we keep our bikes up to date, so we took the opportunity to give the Fade Core a bit of a refresh.

We don't do model years. As a small, independent brand, we don't have to. But that doesn't mean our bikes don't get updated; quite the opposite in fact. It means we can seize any opportunity to do something new and cool.

Airdrop Fade Core with Electric Red Pike DJ
The classic Fade silhouette is still there, but with some electric redness up front and some subtle changes to the build kit. What's still the same is the price... in spite of the upgrades, the Fade Core still costs the same as before.
Rockshox Pike DJ in Electric Red
Rockshox Pike DJ has for a long time been the go-to fork for dirt jump, pump-track and jib bikes. Now they're available in the new Electric Red colour option to match up to the top offerings in the Lyrik, Zeb and Boxxer ranges. In case you're wondering, the Silver option is no more, but we do still offer the Pike DJ in black.
Burgtec Cockpit on Fade DJ
Full burgtec cockpit is rare on a production bike - manufacturers normally cheap-out in this area - especially on DJ bikes. But we build them the way we ride them. As we build all the Fade Core bikes to order, we're in a unique position to offer you customisation options: bar rise (30/38/50mm) bar width (760/770/780/790/800mm) and brake orientation (UK or Euro).
Burgtec Stem on Fade DJ
We also build all the Fades with at least 40mm of stem spacers, which means you can fine-tune your setup and get it 100% dialled before you commit to the steerer-tube cut.
Airdrop Fade Singlespeed Drivetrain
If we had to sum-up the design ethos behind the Fade in one word, it would be this: clean.
Airdrop Fade Integrated Chain Tensioners
Integrated CNC chain tensioners are inside the dropout, not external. That means they're clean, simple and reliable.
SRAM DB8 hydraulic disc brake
If there was ever a criticism of the original Fade Core build kit, it was the two-pot brake. It was totally fine for dirt-jump purposes, but customers who also ride mountain bikes are used to more power. So we upgraded to the new DB8 4-pot hydraulic disc brake from SRAM.
SRAM DB8 discr brake on Airdrop Fade
The DB8 lever is still nice and clean.
Airdrop Motive DJ Hub in Stealth
We've introduced a new Stealth finish on the Airdrop Motive DJ hubs. It's a semi-matte black anodised surface finish with a subtle gloss black Airdrop logo.
Airdrop Fade Core DJ Bike
Nice. The updated Fade Core is available to order now. At time of writing, we have plenty of size Long frames in Black, Raw, Purple Haze and Dippy Egg. We're waiting on a new batch of Regular frames, which are due to arrive in August.
