The Fade is a dirt jump frame in its rawest, purest form; a dedicated dirt jump & pump track platform, pure and simple. The 2024 Fade Works builds on our iconic Öhlins Limited Edition bike and is probably the only production dirt jump bike available with Öhlins forks. Add to that our Bank DJ wheelset and full Burgtec finishing kit, and you've got yourself a seriously tasty dirt jump or pump track bike.
The Fade Works is availavle in three different colours: Dippy Egg, Pitch Black and Purple Haze. The finish is a semi-matte powder coat, which is much more hard wearing than regular wet paint. You also get to choose between brushed silver and brushed black alloy head badges, and ten different decal colours, including Öhlins yellow.
A lot of brands try to make their DJ bikes as cheap as possible. That's OK but it's not for us. We put as much effort into the Fade Works as we would any other bike, and it shows.
We teamed up with Öhlins to have their RXF36 fork built specially at 90mm travel so that we can run them with 26" wheels on the Fade. The result is the only production DJ bike in the world with Swedish gold up front.
It's a great match for the Fade frame and the Bank wheels and the colour scheme brings it all together beautifully.
We make no apologies for our love of Burgtec kit. Every product they make is dialled, they're super-sound people and they're just the other side of the Peak District from us.
When it came to the Fade Works spec, it was obvious that we'd go with a Burgtec Boost DJ sadle, Mk3 stem and RideWide bar. And as we're building them to order, you get to choose bar rise (30/38/50mm) and bar width. We'll set it up exactly how you want it.
We put a lot of design time and effort into all our bikes. The Fade Works is designed to be as clean as possible: nice lines through the frame, well thought-out cable routing, integrated chain tensioners and a bombproof powder finish. The Works build kit takes things to the next level with a black half-link chain and Burgtec finishing kit.
It's also light: at 2.3kg the Fade frame builds into an 11kg bike which means it's incredibly easy to throw around in the air.
If you want something doing properly, do it yourself. Try as we might, we couldn't find DJ wheels that we were happy with for the Fade Works, so we decided to make our own. The Bank DJ 26" Wheelset features a 26" MTB style rim developed with Fratelli Industries, our own Motive DJ singlespeed hubs offering 72 points of engagement, laced together with Black Sapim Race DB spokes and brass nipples. Built in the UK, it's the perfect wheelset for the Fade Works.
The Airdrop Motive hub is exclusive to Airdrop bikes. A dedicated DJ hub, it's singlespeed specific, with 135x10mm bolt-in fitment. The helix driver offers 72 points of engagement, and they sound amazing. The finish is a matte black with yellow splatter, exclusive to the Fade Works. The whole setup is super clean with the Fade's integrated chain tensioners and the black half-link chain.
We teamed up with Fratelli Industries to produce the Bank DJ rim. 32mm wide, with 32 holes. Internally reinforced, with a convex extrusion, they're akin to a DH rim, but in 26". The finish is matte black shotpeened, with subtle Bank laser etching. Inside there's an Airdrop rim strip.
The whole wheel is built in the UK with black Sapim DB spokes and bass nipples.
