Designed by riders, built for riders, the Edit frame is now in it’s fourth generation. That means we’ve put five years of real-world testing, development and refinement into the platform that has earned Airdrop a bit of a cult following. And the result is an alloy, 155mm all-mountain frame that’s up there with the best of them. We’re not into making claims here so all we’ll say is that the Edit is a whole heap of fun to ride. A bike built for good times.
The Edit v4 frame-only option is a solid foundation for your new bike build, either as a fresh start or to transfer over some of your existing kit. And it’s the most cost-effective way to join the Airdrop family. If you already have a quality rear shock (205x60mm trunnion) then this is all you need to get started. If not, take a look at our other frame options with Super Deluxe Air or Super Deluxe Coil shocks. We've got something for everyone.
The Edit v4 frame comes with our own CNC rear axle and seat clamp included along with a full pack of hose and cable guides.
160mm front / 155mm rear
27.5" front & rear
Custom butted 6061-T6 alloy with one-piece CNC rocker and removeable dropouts
Choosing the right spring rate is key to getting the most out of a coil shock. Work out your total rider weight - including your normal riding kit - then use this chart to choose a spring. You can use the shock's preload adjuster to do the fine tuning later.
These spring rates are calculated based on the Edit v4's kinematics. Even if you're used to running coil shocks on other bikes, you may need to check the right spring for the Edit. These calculations are based on 33% sag and a 65% rear / 35% front weight bias. On the Edit's 205mm shock length, 33% sag measures at 185mm eye-to-eye.
