Cycle To Work schemes

The Cycle to Work scheme is a way to pay for your new bike through a monthly salary sacrifice. The payments are taken directly from your gross salary, whilst also meaning you don't pay tax, national insurance or interest fees.

Purchasing through the Cycle To Work scheme allows you to save up to 47%, offering a tax efficient way to buy your next bike. Once you checked your employer is signed up to one of the various scheme providers (eg Cyclescheme, Green Commute Initiative), you can go ahead and ask us for a quote or place an order if you've already got a certificate.

There are many different providers in the UK, and we accept a lot, but not all of them: Cyclescheme, Green Commute Initiative, My Benefits World, Vivup and Cycle Solutions.

We do not currently accept the Halfords scheme, as they charge us a 15% fee (which is far too expensive).

Most employers choose not to limit the order value with Cycle to Work schemes. This means you can browse our entire range of bikes and pair with accessories. Please check with your employer for any order value limit before applying for your certificate.

You can either apply directly to your employer's scheme provider (eg Cyclescheme, Green Commute Initiative), or apply through your employer's accounts or HR department.

You can buy any of our bikes or frames through the scheme. You can also include accessories such as pedals, fenders and mudguards with your purchase, and put it all through the scheme to maximise your savings.

Some employers ask you to get a quote before applying for a voucher, mainly so that they can apply for exactly the right amount. 

With Airdrop, just shop the website as normal and order your bike. At the checkout stage, use the relevant Cycle To Work scheme provider as the payment method. You won't be charged.

That has the benefit of securing the stock and a spot in our build queue for you.

Shop the website in the normal way and add all the items you want to include to your basket. At the checkout stage, choose the relevant Cycle To Work scheme provider as the payment method. You will not be asked to pay at that point. We will hold your order for 14 days. As soon as you have your 12-digit certificate number and your 6-digit redemption code, let us know so that we can complete your order.

You can place an order with us before you apply for a certificate, and that's a good way to ensure the total amount is accurate. But you can also apply for a certificate first, and then place your order with us afterwards.

Not all scheme providers use the same method. Some will issue you with a certificate, which you can then send to us enabling us to trigger payment from the scheme provider. With others, it's necessary for us to invoice them directly. 

Either way, it's best to place your order with us through the website, and we'll take care of the rest. Contact us if you have any further questions.

When you place an order we will hold the stock for 14 days to enable you to apply for a certificate through Cycle To Work. We will not build your bike until you provide us with the certificate number and redemption code, or your scheme provider has paid our invoice.

Once we have redeemed your certificate, you have signed the hire agreement and your employer has released the funds to us, we will build your bike. This will be subject to the usual build queue which is typically 5-7 days.

It is important that the value of your order and the value of your certificate are exactly the same. Once your certificate has been issued, the value cannot change. It is not possible to part-pay via certificate and another payment method. Nor is it possible to make top-up payments.

If you want to order other items in addition to your Cycle To Work scheme bike (and accessories), that must be done as a separate order.

We can only accept Cycle To Work scheme orders on new bikes not compatible with discount codes. But you can order a bike that's on sale and make a double saving.
