Why place a pre-order?

Placing a pre-order reserves the stock for you, and books a place in the build queue. It's the fastest way to get one of our bikes and the only way to guarantee you'll get the option you want. It also helps us to plan everything in advance. We keep pre-order customers updated with regular emails.

We produce all our frames in small batches, and build bikes to order in our Sheffield workshop. We're not a big (or even medium) sized brand; these aren't like massed-produced bikes pre-assembled on a production-line. Each one is built by hand and set up exactly how you want it. Typically we produce frames in batches of 80-120 units. Undoubtedly, we could sell more. They always sell out. But we're a small operation and to us, quality is far more important than size.

Working in batches means that there will always be limits to what we have available to sell at any given time. For us it's better this way because it avoids the problems bigger brands have with over-production and wastage. We plan a set number of each build way in advance and buy parts accordingly. Inevitably, this means there are limits to what we have in any given size/colour or build option - when they're gone, they're gone. That's why we provide the option for customers to place a pre-order.

How to place a pre-order

It's pretty simple - the process is much like placing a regular order. Just navigate to the product you'd like to order. You'll see that the normal 'Add to order' button has changed to say 'Pre-Order'. If you want to check when it is due to come into stock, click on the 'Stock level & build queue' tab on the product page. When you're ready to place a pre-order, select all the options you want, click on the pre-order button and go through the normal checkout process.

Pre-order FAQs

We take full payment at the point where you place your pre-order. It's not currently possible to pay a deposit. However, as with all orders, you can cancel a pre-order at any time until it is shipped, and get a full refund.

We accept all major credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Shop Pay. We also accept PayPal and Klarna.

We don't currently offer finance on-site. But it is possible to use PayPal Credit to spread payments and of course, we offer Klarna's buy-now-pay-later options.

Yes of course. Cancelling a pre-order is the same as with any other order - you can cancel it and get a full refund up to the point when it is shipped. Once an order has shipped, you are free to return it but you will not be refunded shipping costs or any taxes incurred (which can be claimed back from customs authorities in your country).

All our bikes are built to order; nothing is pre-assembled. We therefore build bikes on a first-come-first-served basis. In a pre-order situation, your position in the build queue is set at the point when you place your order. The fact that there is a build queue means that it may take a period of time to build your bike even after the stock has arrived.

We don't currently offer a full custom build service. However, our bikes enable you to choose a variety of options such as bar rise, bar width, dropper length, brake orientation, spring rate and so on. It's also possible to add a variety of accessories and upgrades directly on the product page.

Generally yes you can do that, up to the point when we start the build. There may be some limitations in terms of stock and the price may be affected. As a rule it's best to try to get the pre-order right first time, and we're happy to help you do that.

Yes of course. But remember that we have limited quantities of each item, and it's possible that some options could sell out on pre-order even before stock arrives. Also there will be a pre-order build queue to work through - if you wait until stock arrives, your order will join the back of the queue.

Yes of course. But we strongly advise you to familiarise yourself with the information on exchange rates and international taxes before you place your pre-order.
