The new Edit MX frame is by far the finest and the fastest frame we've designed to date. A product of our dedication to designing the bikes we want to ride, it's the ideal platform for no-nonsense riders. An alloy frame with a 5-year warranty, CNC fitments, external routing, UDH compatible... it's ticking all the right boxes. When you've got a frame like that to build on, it would be rude not to put the best of everything into one amazing bike. That's the Edit MX Works.
The fifth-generation Edit frame is a versatile platform, and it can be built in many ways. But we reserve the best of everything for the Edit MX Works. Across the whole Airdrop range, the Works Series represents the very best build; in many ways it's the ultimate expression of what our bikes can be. These are the bikes the way we envisaged them from the very beginning. Top-of-the-range suspension, ultra-crisp drivetrain, powerful brakes, hand-built wheels and sweet finishing kit make for an incredible all-round bike.
Like all our bikes, the Edit MX Works is built to order.
At the heart of the Works build is the Vivid Coil Ultimate RC2T shock delivering 161mm of buttery-smooth travel in a beautifully engineered package.
The unmistakable feel of coil, evolved with premium technology to give you world-class suspension performance. This is the top-end RC2T shock with rebound adjust, high- and low-speed compression adjust, adjustable hydraulic bottom-out control and the new TouchDown position-sensitive damper.
Choose your electric red spring from a range of 12 rates in 25lb increments for the utlimate personal tune.
Up front there is the world-cup winning Zeb Ultimate Charger 3.1 fork. 38mm stanchions deliver stiffness and precision while the Charger 3.1 damper keeps everything under control.
You get independent high- and low-speed compression and rebound adjustment. ButterCups block 20% of high-frequency trail chatter, while the DebonAir+ gives you smooth small bump and improved mid-stroke support.
As we're building the wheels in-house, we spec Torque Caps on the Hope Pro 5 hubs for maximum front-end stiffness.
We redesigned the Edit MX rear end around the SRAM UDH standard, which means the Works bike can use the flagship X0 T-Type AXS drivetrain. It's fully wireless, and the direct-mount rear mech delivers incredibly crisp & fast shifts every time. It's also more serviceable than it's predecessors, with a replaceable cage.
Fitting T-Type means the Works bike has the new alloy X0 crankset and t-type chain for fewer dropped chains. We also spec the 2x optional integrated bashguards and an MRP SL i0 chain device for maximum security. The crank arms are 165mm for extra clearance. Nothing left to chance here.
The better your brakes, the faster you can go. Which is why the Edit MX Works has SRAM's World-Cup level DH brake: Maven Ultimate. They're the most powerful brake SRAM has ever made.
4-pot callipers and huge pistons mean all that power i easier to access with a lighter lever-pull. Stealth hose routing, organic pads and titanium hardware. Oh, and we fit top-of-the-line HS2 rotors - 200mm front and rear.
The icing on what's already a very nice cake. The Edit MX Works gets our very best wheelset. We hand build Reserve alloy rims (which have a lifetime warranty) onto Hope Pro 5 hubs, with black DT Swiss double-butted spokes and brass ProLock nipples. The whole thing's finished off with Fillmore valves. They're wearing Maxxis Assegai front and DHR II tyres on the back.
It's pretty insane that a production bike gets a wheelset like this, but this is what we run on our own bikes. Remember: we design the bikes we want to ride. And we go one further: upgrade to Reserve carbon rims for only £600.
